Get Ready to Race to the 2026 KHS Homecoming Parade!
In a continuation of a great community tradition, Kearney High School is getting ready to Race to Homecoming 2026!
This year’s KHS Homecoming Parade will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, bringing KSD students, activities, teams and families together with the community for an afternoon of Bulldog pride. Our schools will have a half-day schedule. Parade participants will begin lining up at 12:30 p.m. The parade will begin just east of the railroad tracks and follow the traditional route through downtown before ending at the First Baptist Church parking lot. Community members may begin gathering along the route east of the railroad tracks.
Parade entries are due Friday, Sept. 18. The organization sponsor, rather than the driver, should complete the entry information. Late submissions may not be included in the parade lineup. The online entry form is available at bit.ly/HOCOparade26. Under district guidelines, parade participation is limited to school organizations and extensions of KSD youth sports programs.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Required participant meeting: Each participating group must have its driver and a representative attend the parade meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23, in the KHS Commons.
- Student permission forms: Students participating in Homecoming activities must have a completed permission form. Sponsors should collect and retain those forms throughout the event.
- Parade safety: Candy should not be thrown from floats or vehicles. Participants walking alongside entries may hand candy directly to spectators on the sidewalks. Drivers and participants are also expected to follow all traffic and parade safety requirements.
