Members of the Kearney High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter recently attended the Missouri FBLA State Leadership Conference, held April 12–14 in Springfield, Missouri. The three-day event brought together students from across the state to compete, collaborate, and grow as future business leaders.

During the conference, students participated in a wide range of activities beyond their competitive events. Attendees had the opportunity to network with peers and professionals, attend leadership and career-focused workshops, participate in community service initiatives, explore the Leadership Expo, and enjoy organized social events.

One standout moment from the conference involved FBLA member and District 4 President Laken Staab, who supported a District 4 candidate by helping run her campaign booth for the upcoming State President role. The candidate was successfully elected, highlighting the collaborative and supportive spirit of FBLA members across Missouri.

The Kearney FBLA chapter was also recognized for its achievements this year, earning a Silver Chapter Rating, a distinction that reflects the group’s commitment to leadership, service, and professional development.

Additionally, two Kearney students placed in their competitive events:

  • Carter Brock earned 9th place in Management Information Systems
  • Sofia Payne earned 6th place in Healthcare Administration
These accomplishments demonstrate the dedication and hard work of Kearney FBLA members as they continue to develop valuable skills for their future careers.
